PNS

Former Rajya Sabha MP Sabir Ali, whose induction in the BJP had created controversy in 2014 with stiff opposition by many senior BJP functionaries, particularly  Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, was on Monday appointed the party’s Minority Morcha General Secretary.

The BJP announced six Vice Presidents,  three General Secretaries, seven secretaries and one treasurer, media prabhari and social media prabhari each from  different States.

Ali from Bihar  is one of the three General Secretaries of Minority Morcha- the other being Sufi MK Chisti (Goa) and JP D ‘Souza (Karnataka)

Ali’s membership was cancelled within 24 hours in 2014 after a massive uproar against his induction but was brought back in the party the very next year.

Naqvi had gone on record opposing Ali’s induction questioning his credentials as a political leader.
