Power-starved State Congress leaders and desperate JMM scion Hemant Soren must have hit a jackpot by reaching a power sharing deal in Jharkhand but the amount of taint the upcoming Government would carry is certainly going to be detrimental to Jharkhand and the stability of Government as well.
The Congress central leadership might have stopped Jr Soren to allot Cabinet berths to tainted independent MlAs but it seems to have overlooked the taint the JMM and Congress MlAs are carrying on them.
Interestingly, at least six out of the 18 MlAs of the JMM and three of the 13 MlAs of Congress are facing serious charges of corruption, abduction, extortion, murder — all cases of varied natures and being probed by top investigating agencies.
JMM MlAs Sita Soren, Vishnu Bhaiya, Poulush Soren, Shashank Shekhar Bhokta are facing charges of corruption in the alleged 2012 Rajya Sabha Horse trading case being probed by the CBI. Another two MlAs of the JMM —Simon Marandi is an accused in the alleged 2010 Rajya Sabha Horse Trading case probed by CBI and Shikaripara MlA Nalin Soren is an accused of seed scam being probed by the State Vigilance Bureau.
Congress MlA Sawna lakra has been convicted and sentenced by a Ranchi court in a murder case of honour killing. He is also an accused in the alleged 2010 Rajya Sabha Horse Trading case being probed by the CBI, which also involves another two MlAs of the Congress Rajesh Ranjan and Yogendra Saw.
