The Congress on Tuesday directed its spokespersons to do proper research about the subjects on which they defend the party on TV channels. The party has also decided to do live streaming of AICC Press conferences on its website as part of its strategy to spruce up its media presence.
At a meeting of spokespersons chaired by Congress general secretary in-charge of the Communication Department Ajay Maken, it was decided to start live streaming of AICC Press conferences on its website within a month.
This would ensure fast reach of Congress response on issues to people and PCC offices thereby bringing uniformity in the party’s response on the key issues across the length and breadth of the country. Once the live streaming facility is integrated, the Congress will possibly become the first political party in the country to have its Press conferences shown live in real time on its website.
The meeting, which was attended by about 30 spokespersons and TV channel panelists, also chalked out elaborate plans for increasing the party’s responses on social media, sources said.
It was also decided to have in each State like Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh a point person who would give the background information to spokesmen about the incidents and political developments happening there.
