The Congress took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday over the announcement of recruitment of 10 lakh people in the next year and a half and asked till how long will "jumle-baazi" continue.

Former party chief Rahul Gandhi said Modi had promised to provide two crore jobs every year and that going by promise, 16 crore jobs should have been provided in the last eight years.

Rahul took a swipe on  government during lunch break from questioning by the Enforcement Directorate. "Just like 8 years ago, youths were promised 2 crore jobs every year, in same way now it is the turn of 10 lakh government jobs.  This is not a government of jumlas, it is a government of 'maha jumlas'. The Prime Minister is not an expert in creating jobs, but in making 'News' on jobs," Rahul tweeted.  Congress has been attacking the BJP-led Centre over rising unemployment and lack of new jobs in country. Congress's chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said for how long Modi and his government will keep on doing Jumle-baazi'.

“Modi promised to provide two crore jobs every year and that going by promise, 16 crore jobs should have been provided in the last eight years. The promise was to provide two crore jobs every year and 16 crore jobs were to be given in eight years.  Now they are saying they will only provide 10 lakh jobs by year 2024. Sixty lakh posts are lying vacant in governments.

Thirty lakh posts are lying vacant in the central government.,” said AICC chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala at AICC PC.
