With Assembly polls in Gujarat coming closer, the Congress on Tuesday came out with series of promises on Tuesday, announcing sops for farmers — including debt waiver, free water for irrigation and electricity for 16 hours if elected to power. Gujarat Congress president Bharatsinh Solanki said the party will work in such a manner that farmers wouldn’t need to migrate from their villages to cities. He also promised to give appropriate support price for the agriculture produces. Solanki said the Congress will declare first list of 90 candidates for the Assembly elections on October 3.
