Cong door open for TMC rebels

The Congress wants to pay the Trinamool Congress back ‘in its own coins’ by keeping the doors ajar for its rebel leaders. AICC member and State Congress incharge Shakeel Ahmad Khan has made it clear that his party would have no problems taking in leaders from the Trinamool Congress who decide to change over.

“We have no problem if they come in,” he said on Thursday referring to the rebel TMC MPs. “We are regularly watching the developments in Bengal and going by that if these leaders come to us we will consider their case and take them in on our condition,” the Congress leader, who is known for his proximity to Rahul Gandhi, said.

Ahmed’s statements gain importance on two counts. First it would be regarded as a message to the dissenting voices within the PCC who were opposed to rehabilitating “turncoats” in Congress and second it would foment more trouble in the Trinamool ranks experts said.
