PNS

Finally, it was much ado about nothing. Andhra Pradesh Police, which had registered a crim-inal case of “cheating” against two Union Ministers Sushilkumar Shinde and P Chidambaram, has sought the permission of the courts to close the same on ground of lack of evidence.

lB Nagar Police of Ranga Reddy district has submitted a report to the Second Metropolitan Magistrate court seeking the closure of the case. The Station House Officer has reported to the court that there was no sufficient evidence against the Ministers.

The same court had earlier directed the SHO to register the case on a petition filed by Naresh Kumar, president of Junior Advocates Association of Telangana, alleging that the two Ministers had made misleading statements cheating the people of Telangana that a separate State was being carved out.
