Chacha-bhatija in fresh round of SP pari-war

The Samajwadi Party’s first famnily feud refuses to die down with Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav appointing his trusted lieutenant Javed Abdi as adviser of the Irrigation department. The CM’s uncle Shivpal Yadav was the Irrigation Minister till he was dismissed from the Cabinet in October.

Abdi was physically prevented and pushed away from the dais by State SP chief Shivpal Yadav during the SP’s silver jubilee foundation day function in lucknow on November 5.

Official sources said on Friday that Sayeed Javed Abbas alias Javed Abdi of Amroha has been appointed as adviser of Irrigation department with immediate effect. The appointment of Abdi, days ahead of the announcement of Assembly polls, is being seen as the beginning of a fresh round of sparring between ‘chacha’ Shivpal and ‘bhatija’ Akhilesh.

Abdi was first appointed as Chairman of UP Pollution Control Board by the Chief Minister in August 2014 and was accorded the status of a Minister of State.

Abdi also got an official bungalow close to the CM's residence on Kalidas Marg. However a yearlater on August 14, 2015, Abdi was sacked from the post by the CM without assigning any reason.

It was rumoured that the Chief Minister was unhappy with the SP leader following serious charges of corruption.
