CCTV footage from Surat railway station in Gujarat purportedly shows two suspects in the firing incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff rushing to board a Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express, hours after the attack in Mumbai, a Railway Police officer said on Monday.

Abhay Soni, Superintendent of Police of the Western Railway's Vadodara division, said the suspects travelled by taxi from Mumbai to Surat, around 275 km away, before boarding the train bound for Jaipur at around 1.30 am on Monday.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) in Gujarat and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) assisted the operation by coordinating with Mumbai Police to trace the suspects, he said.

"Yes, we worked in coordination with the Mumbai police to trace the suspects (in the Tiger Shroff firing case who were later intercepted at Kota station in Rajasthan)," Soni said.

"CCTV footage of the (Surat) station, which was shared with the Maharashtra police, shows two of them running along a platform to board a general compartment of a moving Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express," he added.

Three people allegedly involved in the firing were apprehended from the train at Kota railway station in Rajasthan on Monday morning following a 15-minute operation. They were suspected to be travelling towards Nepal from Mumbai.

The trio, including Ritik alias Roshan from Begusarai in Bihar and Rehan from Sonipat in Haryana, were detained from the train's general coach when it halted at Kota at 10.17 am, Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said.

The firing targeting the 36-year-old actor, the son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff and known for his role in "War", took place on a busy Sunday evening and was captured on video. The footage showed shots being fired at close range at his car.

Tiger Shroff escaped relatively unhurt, while his driver and a bystander sustained injuries. The incident occurred as the actor was leaving a football club in Mumbai's Juhu area in a car.
