The CBI raids on the houses of most influential BJD MlA Pravat Tripathy have apparently pressed a panic button in the ruling BJD.
The CBI raided on Tripathy on charge of protecting the chit fund companies after a similar action against BJD MP Ramachandra Hansda. It has made it clear that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would not provide any kind of protection to the people allegedly hand in gloves with the Ponzi companies.
As the CBI went on raiding the houses of BJD leaders, the talk of the city is who is nextIJ During its series of searches at 60 locations in Mumbai and Odisha, the investigating agency zeroed in on Artha Tatwa Group director Sambit Khuntia and a local level Congress leader, who has been evading arrest for nearly a month.
The searches were carried out also at the residence of TV serial producer Priti Bhatia and stock broker Deepak Parekh in Mumbai, besides at Brahmapur, Baleswar, and 54 places around Bhubaneswar.
Parekh had allegedly obtained licence from SEBI and MCX for Artha Tatwa Group, while Bhatia had started a media company along with Artha Tatwa CMD Pradeep Sethi, who has been arrested by the CBI.
CBI sources said premises of MlA Tripathy, Odisha Cricket Association Secretary Ashirbad Behera, Satyabrata lenka and Sethi and others were searched.
