Demanding dismissal of the Akhilesh Yadav Government over its failure to control communal riot in Muzaffarnagar, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) urged Governor Bl Joshi to set up a high-level committee to probe into this riot.
“The guilty should not be spared while it should be probed whether the communal violence in Muzaffarnagar and other parts of the State were pre-planned,’’ said BSP general secretaries and leaders of the Opposition in State legislature Swami Prasad Maurya and Nasimuddin Siddiqui.
They also blamed that there is a nexus between the ruling party and some communal forces leading to communal violence just before the lok Sabha elections. “A
high-level probe would bring to the fore behind this communal violence,’’ the BSP leaders said.
Addressing a Press conference here the BSP leaders said that since day Samajwadi Party came to power communal violence has erupted. “Either the SP Government step down taking moral responsibility in failing to control the riots or Governor Bl Joshi should recommend imposition of President’s rule,’’ Maurya, leader of the Opposition in UP Assembly said.
“Jungle raj prevails in the State and Akhilesh Yadav has surrendered before the criminals and mafias,’’ he said. He also demanded that the UP Government should provide Rs 25 lakh as compensation to the family of the two media persons killed in the Muzaffarnagar riots, Rs 20 lakhs to other deceased, Rs 2 lakh for the critical injured and Rs 50,000 each to other injured.
leader of the Opposition in the State legislative Council Nasimuddin Siddiqui said that toll may go up as hundred of people are still missing from the villages.
Siddiqui said that the Government agencies and police have failed to control communal violence in the State. “The recent 84-Kosi parikarma sponsored by a communal organisation was an enough indication that Government was dancing to the tune of these forces,’’ he said. Both Maurya and Siddiqui said that they will raise the issue during coming Monsoon Session of the UP legislature starting from September 16.
