The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has partially demolished Ajay Devgn’s bungalow in Mumbai’s Juhu area over alleged unauthorised construction linked to a proposed salon and spa.

The demolition reportedly took place on October 12 at the property in Kapol Co-operative Housing Society. The civic body alleged that alterations, including partition walls and changes to windows, were carried out without the necessary permissions.

The action followed a stop-work notice issued by the BMC on September 10, directing the owners to halt the construction and submit the required approvals. The civic body subsequently proceeded with the demolition after finding the response and documents submitted insufficient to establish that the work was authorised.

The property had reportedly been leased to a company planning to operate a salon and spa. The proposed commercial use had also drawn objections from the housing society over concerns related to permissions, parking, security and the movement of customers in the residential neighbourhood.

The dispute centres on whether the property had the necessary approvals for commercial use and the alterations carried out on the premises. While a source from Devgn’s camp had maintained that the required permissions were obtained, the BMC proceeded with action over the alleged unauthorised construction.
