BJP will start its victory chariot in 2019 from Bengal if organisational progress continued the way it had been for the past a few years, BJP president Amit Shah said on Tuesday.

Insisting that his “workforce” would defeat Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, the BJP president, who was addressing a Mahasampark Abhiyan of eastern States in Howrah, said. Party leaders and workers from Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Sikkim and Andamans attended the meeting.

National BJP leaders like Arjun Munda, Ram lal, Babul Supriyo and Siddharth Nath Singh were also present in the meeting.

Saying that BJP was a “nationalistic force” unlike the Trinamool Congress which represented a “demonic force” Shah said that his party would contribute in national building.

Expressing his satisfaction at the increasing strength of his party in Bengal the BJP president said that if things continued like that the BJP would start its “victory chariot” from Bengal where the party’s strength would become formidable.

Shah who met the other leaders of eastern States insisted that only making members would not suffice and that the members would have to reach out to the people to instill the party ideology among them.

Congratulating the Narendra Modi Government for its excellent performance he listed the 24 initiatives — like Jan-Dhan, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Urban mission, Deendayal gram jyoti Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna, Namami Gange, Pradhanmatri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Pradhanmatri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojna, Mudra, AMRUT, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachha Bharat, Make in India, Skill India, Digital India etc — that the Government had taken in the past one year and said a day would come when the strong organisation of the party and the good work done by the Central Government would help the saffron group rule the country right from the Panchayat to Parliament.

BJP which traditionally had 3-4 percent of votes in Bengal had increased its strength remarkably in 2014 general elections polling to more than 16 percent votes. Subsequently, it won the Basirhat Assembly bypolls defeating Trinamool Congress and came second at Kolkata Chowrunghee seat.
