A dispute broke out between the police and the BJP worker at Mohalla Naurangabad in the Gandhi Park area. It is alleged that BJP worker, resident of Manik Chowk (formerly Mahavirganj BJP Mandal) and zinc businessman Manish Gupta, along with his partner, tore the policeman’s uniform and kicked the inspector. Later somehow the police took both to the police station. Three BJP MLAs reached there on the news. Later, they compromised on the intervention of the MLAs.
From the IG level, Inspector Manikant Sharma of Gandhi Park police station has been called for line. At the same time, a case has been registered against both the accused.
Two parties were having dinner at a function in a hotel at Mukhiya Ji's Dharamshala in the Naurangabad area. Suddenly there was a fight between the two sides on something. A person from one side was recognized as BJP worker Manish Gupta. The people called the police. Shortly, the soldier and the police reached the spot. According to the police, at the time they arrived, Manish and his fellow Awadhesh were found assaulting a man named Virendra. When he was stopped by the soldier Rajkumar, he beated him and tore the uniform.
Meanwhile, when the inspector Sanjeev Kumar reached, he was also kicked and fiercely abused. Later, other forces were called from the police station. Somehow both were caught and taken to the police station.
On receiving the information, BJP MLAs Sanjeev Raja, Anil Parashar and Ravindra Pal Singh also reached the police station. After their intervention, both parties agreed to compromise. But in the meantime, the matter reached the IG and SSP etc. Manish, on the other hand, accused the police of taking him to the police station and beating him. After which SSP Muniraj has called line to inspector Manikant Sharma of Gandhi Park police station. At the same time, on behalf of inspector Sanjeev Kumar, a case has been filed against Manish and Awadhesh on charges of assault, obstruction of government work, indecency etc.
SSP Muniraj said that in this case, the negligence of the inspector has been found at the initial level. The investigation into the allegations of the other two sides has been submitted to CO II. Further action will be taken based on the investigation.
This is not the first time in the district when the ruling BJP workers have clashed with the police. Since the formation of the government in the state, there are countless such cases in which there is a clash between the police and the BJP. The policemen are disappointed with what happened while all the allegations are being made against the policemen from the BJP. In this case, the person named Virender, has been given a complaint of indecent assault and abuse with him by the police. This matter has also been made part of the investigation by the police.
Sanjeev Raja, BJP MLA said that he reached the police station after this information. In the station, it was told that the BJP worker has been beaten up badly. The police were working as a party for the other side. The same complaint was made to the higher authorities. Both parties have now compromised.
