Claiming that Bharatiya Janata Party is set to sweep the parliamentary elections in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the trend in six phases of polls showed that BJP would win over 74 seats and Narendra Modi would again be the prime minister of India.
Addressing a series of rallies in Maharajganj, Faizabad, Pipraich and Jaitpur on Monday, Yogi said the people had made up their mind to vote for the BJP as it was working for the welfare of the masses.
“Will you elect one who stole taps from government bungalow?” Yogi asked, mocking at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav.
“Like last year, this year too, elephants of BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) would fail to move a step. They are stranded and are standing at one point. “Cycle par haathi baith gaya hai is liye cycle bhi puncture ho jayegi (The elephant is riding the bicycle, and so the tyres of bicycle would also get punctured)”, he said.
Polling in this region will be held in the last phase on May 19.
Listing the works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Yogi said that all the welfare schemes the Union government had launched so far do not discriminate people in the name of caste and religion. “These welfare schemes have been implemented in the interest of the poor,” he added.
