The Opposition parties led by BJP have intensified their attack on the Bihar Government against the Bagha police firing which claimed lives of seven people, sending shock waves across the entire State.

Seven youth were killed when the police opened fire on an irate mob, protesting against the suspected murder of a missing youth under Naurangia police station area of Bagha police district on Monday.

State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who snapped JD(U)’s 17-year-old ties with the BJP now is confronted with a formidable Opposition in his old ally which has 91 MlAs in the Assembly.

In the pre-split situation, the RJD with only 22 MlAs was the main Opposition party but rarely performed as an effective opposition before a strong ruling NDA which had altogether 209 MlAs in the 243-member State Assembly.
