PNS

The BJP on Tuesday brought into its fold hundreds of technocrats, bureaucrats, entrepreneurs and corporate officials in what is seen as its effort to counter the growing buzz around Aam Aadmi Party.

The party also formed a Technocrat Cell, which will be headed by five-time president of IIT Roorkee Faculty Forum Subodh Sharma, who is also a member of All India IIT Faculty Federation. Among the new entrants is KK Sharma, former IT Commissioner who was a senior to former IRS officer and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“This is aimed to give technocrats’ their due and involve them in nation building and carry forward the golden Indian growth story. The party strongly believes that giving capacity to create wealth to its populace and young citizens in particular, to which the party is committed, only can make them permanently prosperous and take the country forward and not distributing wealth from treasury without any wealth creation,” reads a release from the party headquarters.

Those who have joined the BJP include Ashok Kumar Saini, the CEO of A2Z Maintenance and Engineering Services limited, Kamdhenu Ispat Director Pankaj Agrawal, former Air Vice Marshal R K Mohan, Air Commodore A Mohanty, former IPS officer RD Gupta and others.
