The BJP on Friday lashed out at senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh for retweeting a meme attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi with crude abuses, saying his comments reflect his party's “diseased mind”.
The Congressman prefaced his post by saying it is not his but he “couldn't help posting it.”
“Digvijaya Singh's comments on Twitter reflect the Congress party's diseased mind. They have not only insulted the elected Prime Minister of this country, but also the people of India,” said BJP spokesperson GVl Narasimha Rao.
Singh, who was trolled on the social media for his tweet, said he was only retweeting a post and “this is not mine”.
The tweet is a meme — it has a picture of the PM with two jokey sentences both of which have cuss words.
