With the exit poll projections by private news television channels showing performance of the BJP, JD(U) and the RJD-Congress-NCP alliance in Bihar, leaders of different political parties have come out with their own explanations and clarifications.
Apparently jubilant with the party’s projected performance in the State, Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey said that people have reposed their faith in party and its leader Narendra Modi in a big way.
“It’s all because of people of the State reposed their faith in our party and leadership of Narendra Modi. Now it is clear that the BJP-led NDA is going to form the next Government at the Centre with Narendra Modi as the next Prime Minister of the country,” Pandey told mediapersons. The exit poll projections have given 22-30 seats to the BJP in Bihar.
Apparently enthused with the exit poll predictions, the BJP leader and party candidate from Bhagalpur Syed Shahnawaz Hussain too has said that now the NDA was going to form the Government at the Centre “despite all the negative campaign unleashed by the Congress Government against the BJP”.
Our Government’s motto would be as Narendra bhai has said in his campaign slogan, “sabka saath, sabka vikas,” said Hussain, who has had a tough contest on the Bhagalpur seat.
However, Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar has dismissed the exit poll projections saying it was all being projected by media and we all should wait till May 16. “Yeh sab to app log keh rahe hain… May 16 tak intezar kijiye,” said Kumar with conspicuous signs of worry on his weather-beaten face.
His partymen and MlC Neeraj Kumar, though, said that all these exit polls have been proven wrong in the past. “If the BJP is so desperate to form the Government at the Centre, they should wait for 72 hours or take trika (medicine) three times a day to be relaxed,” he suggested.
The exit poll projections by different news channels have given not more than five seats to the JD(U) and cited party’s snapping ties with the BJP proved electorally fatal for the Bihar CM.
But, NCP leader Tariq Anwar, who had contested from Katihar lok Sabha constituency as a lone contender of his party in the State, said that if the exit poll projects were true everybody should accept this. “Yadi yeh exit poll projection sahi hai to hum sabko isko accept karna chahiye … yehi to democracy ka beauty hai,” said Tariq Anwar whose projections to win the Katihar seat is high in exit polls.
However, RJD chief lalu Prasad Yadav, who had campaigned hard (with his helicopter being landed at 243 places, equal of State Assembly seats and 27 roadshows) has outrightly rejected the exit poll projections, which significantly has shown a good number of seats for his party.
“May 16 ko yeh sab exit poll ka khul jayega pol (just wait till May 16 and all exit poll projections will be proved wrong),” he told mediapersons. Barring one channel poll projection, all other news channels have given lalu and his alliance partners a good number of seats from 12-14.
lalu had given a tough fight to the NaMo wave on many seats in Bihar and as many said that fair assessments suggested that he would get around 14-15 seats in this election which might “revive his lost ground in Bihar politics”.
Meanwhile, after almost two months of whirlwind poll campaign, almost all the top leaders of the parties are said to be taking rest inside their abode while waiting anxiously for the final result on May 16, when the variant mood at their luxuriant abode would be the real story.
