The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun drawing up an extensive strategy under Mission 2029 to regain power in Jharkhand and win public support ahead of the next Assembly elections. As part of the initiative, BJP national president Nitin Nabin will arrive in Ranchi on October 23 for a two-day visit and attend the party’s Jharkhand state executive committee meeting on October 24 and 25.
Preparations for the visit are underway, with a series of internal meetings being held by the state BJP leadership. The party’s national co-organisation general secretary, Saudan Singh, who is currently in Ranchi, has been interacting with leaders and workers to review arrangements.
Nabin is scheduled to reach Ranchi on October 23 and address the inaugural session of the state executive committee meeting on October 24. His address is expected to focus on strengthening the organisation, enhancing the role of party workers and ensuring the effective implementation of party programmes.
Senior party leaders, office-bearers and elected representatives will participate in the meeting. Besides reviewing organisational activities, the committee is expected to draw up a roadmap for upcoming political campaigns and organisational initiatives.
The BJP has been out of power in Jharkhand since 2014 and has suffered defeats in the last two Assembly elections. The party is now preparing to make the 2029 Assembly polls a key target, urging workers to engage with people at the grassroots level and rebuild public confidence.
BJP state spokesperson Avinesh Kumar Singh said Nabin’s upcoming visit would be organisationally significant and his second visit to Jharkhand since becoming the party’s national president. He added that Nabin had maintained close ties with the state and regularly interacted with party workers during his earlier visits.
Singh said the national president had previously expressed concern that people in Jharkhand were distressed by the state government, despite the BJP having played a key role in the creation of the state.
“The people must be freed from this government. We will prepare a blueprint to remove it from power in 2029,” Singh said, adding that the issue would likely figure prominently in Nabin’s address to the state executive committee.
The meeting is expected to set the direction for the BJP’s political and organisational strategy in Jharkhand as it seeks to return to power after a decade-long absence from government.
