The Himachal Pradesh BJP on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh after the CBI filed charge sheet against by him in a disproportionate assets case.

The party also demanded dissolution of the state assembly to pave wave for fresh polls.

State BJP chief spokesperson Rajiv Bindal, while addressing the mediapersons, questioned the moral authority of Singh to continue in office.

He said that it was unprecedented in the history of Himachal Pradesh that the residence of a sitting Chief Minister was raided and his properties were sealed but still he was not ready to resign. "Singh should resign in the interest of the state, people of Himachal Prdaesh and Congress party as people of the State are tolerating the corrupt Government for the past four years and the time is rife for dissolution of the assembly," he added.
