Continuing its onslaught on the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, the BJP on Friday accused him of spreading “hatred against Hindus and Hinduism” and endorsing Salman Khurshid who allegedly compared it with “‘Jehadi’ terror organisations”.

Addressing a press conference here, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra said  senior Congress leaders like Khurshid, P Chidambaram, Shashi Tharoor, Digvijay Singh, Mani Shankar Iyer and Rashid Alvi were speaking against Hinduism not by “mere coincidence” but “at the behest of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi”.

“Ye sanjog nahin prayog hai aur iss prayog ke mukhya adhayaksh Rahul hain..”, said Patra in his no-holds-barred attack on the former Congress president. He also ridiculing him for his claim that he has read ‘Upanishads’.

“Have you read Constitution?”, quizzed the BJP leader and hastened to add” what you have said goes against the basic tenets  of the Constitution” which he said prohibits “spreading disharmony against any religion”.

The BJP spokesperson was responding to the comments made by Rahul in his virtual press conference.

“This is not the first time Rahul spoke against Hindus or Hinduism”, he said alleging that “in fact it is not Rahul who is endorsing Khurshid’s views against Hinduism but Khurshid endorsing Rahul’s lonng-held hatred against Hinduism...”.

Patra claimed that on December 17, 2010, in Wikileaks expose, Rahul had said that “India faced bigger threat not from terrorists but from Hindus..”.

Similarly, he accused Rahul  of saying that those who visit temples are “molesters”.

Patra alleged that “this pathological hatred against Hindus flow from the Gandhi family” which is followed by other Congress leaders.

Further, he pointed Congress’ attempt to “delay” the Ram temple case in the Supreme Court in 2019 and what he called “Sonia’s party’s affidavit saying Ram is an “imaginary” personality .

Patra also accused Rahul of defaming Veer Savarkar and creating a divide between Mahatma Gandhi and Savarkar who “respected each other”.
