New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday targeted All India Students' Association (AISA) president Neha Bora over her remarks criticising the Brahmanical system and alleging sexual violence by priests inside temples, accusing her of spreading "Hindu hate" and linking her comments to Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.
BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari shared a video of Bora on X, describing her as the "poster girl of Rahul Gandhi" and alleging that her remarks reflected the Congress leader's views on Hindu religious institutions.
"She is inspired from Rahul Gandhi who earlier had said 'Mandiro main ladkiyon ke sath ched chad hoti hai'," Bhandari wrote, adding, "Congress Hates Hindus, loves vote bank!"
Bora had earlier faced BJP criticism over a separate video message sent to Bangladesh's Socialist Students' Front for its sixth central conference. In that message, she expressed solidarity with the student organisation and referred to the Gen Z movement in Bangladesh. The video was circulated in October and became the subject of another political controversy.
AISA is a Left-wing student organisation and is separate from the Congress. Bora has been among the prominent faces of the protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and was detained by Delhi Police during a demonstration on October 10.
