Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India’s premier engineering and manufacturing enterprise, has secured major domestic contracts from Adani Power Limited for setting up four thermal power projects across India.
Under the terms of the agreement, BHEL will supply critical equipment-comprising Boilers, Turbines, and Generators, along with necessary auxiliaries-along with agreed services for four projects, each with a capacity of 2x800 MW. These contracts will be executed in line with the customer’s project requirements. This 6,400 MW order stands as a testament to the customer’s enduring trust in BHEL’s execution capabilities. BHEL remains a cornerstone of India’s energy landscape, having deployed more than 214 GW of power-generating equipment worldwide. At the end of FY 2025-26, BHEL reinforced its market dominance by maintaining a 54% share in utility-scale thermal capacity, 60% in nuclear (secondary side), and 43% in hydro power across the country. In total, BHEL accounts for 53% of India’s overall utility-scale conventional power generation capacity.
These prestigious domestic orders by Adani Power further reinforces BHEL’s technological leadership and its unwavering commitment to supporting India’s infrastructure growth, energy security, and self-reliance in the power sector.
