Pioneer News Service

A 42-year-old advocate, identified as Manjunath, was allegedly shot dead by two of his tenants following a dispute over unpaid rent at his residence in Pattandur Agrahara, police said on Monday.

The incident took place around midnight on Sunday. The two accused, who work as delivery boys, allegedly fled after shooting the advocate.

According to a senior police officer, a preliminary investigation found that an argument had broken out between Manjunath and the two tenants about an hour before the shooting over non-payment of rent.

The advocate sustained a gunshot injury to the head and died, the officer said.

A case has been registered at the Whitefield police station, and police teams are working to trace and arrest the two suspects. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
