Putting an end to persistent rumours and speculation regarding his medical condition, Dumka legislator Basant Soren reached out to the public directly through social media on Wednesday, extending festive greetings on the auspicious occasions of Dussehra and Dasai.

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader, who has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore for the past month, shared a heartfelt message from his official Facebook account, bringing visible relief and joy to his supporters across the Santhal Pargana region and the state.

Taking to Facebook around 3 pm on Wednesday, Soren invoked the blessings of Goddess Durga for peace, happiness, and prosperity for the people of Jharkhand.

Emphasising the triumph of good over evil, unrighteousness, and untruth, he expressed hope that the festive season would dispel difficulties and pave the way for new energy, hope, and milestones in the lives of citizens. His direct communication came as a definitive rebuttal to a wave of unverified claims and speculative reports circulating across social media platforms over the past few weeks regarding his health status.

Supporters and party cadres in his constituency had grown increasingly anxious in recent days amidst the information vacuum and conflicting reports, prompting earlier clarifications by JMM leadership. Soren’s direct public message has effectively dispelled misleading chatter, reassuring his constituency and well-wishers of his positive recovery and ongoing engagement with the people of Jharkhand.
