Azam sees BJP plot in Kasganj violence

With the situation limping back to normal in strife-hit Kasganj, Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan said that the conflict was pre-planned by the BJP to serve its narrow political ends.

“The BJP Government is harassing Muslims. The nation has to decide its destiny and also the fate of secularism. The easiest thing to do is to tease Muslims as traitors and target them on the pretext of  Ganga and cow protection,‘’ said Khan in Rampur on Wednesday.

“What was the fault of Msulims at KasganjIJ They were celebrating Republic Day. A procession along with saffron flags was forcibly taken out and objectionable and provocative slogans were raised in that locality,’’ said Khan.

“Whatever happened in Kasganj and happening elsewhere were as per BJP's agenda. The people are not so naïve and they can not see through the BJP’s game,” said he.

Alleging that the BJP engineered the violence to divert attention of the people from pressing issues, Khan said, "The BJP needs a new narrative or esle they will have to answer tough questions about the promises of providing jobs to youth made during 2014, lok Sabha elections."

The SP leader also said, "The BJP is also facing the wrath of the people over devastation caused by demonetisation and the implementation of Goods and Services Tax. The easiest option that the BJP has is to trigger communal riots by rousing sentiments over Hindutuva.’’
