A soldier sustained injuries when a column of the Army tried to foil an infiltration bid in Tangdar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday morning.
A Defence spokesman said that after the Army intercepted the suspicious movement along the line of Control (loC) in the area in the wee hours, the Army launched an attack and repulsed the infiltration bid leading to injuries to a soldier.
Three unidentified militants had been killed in an encounter in Tangdar area on August 21. Defence sources said the slain militants were involved in an attack on Border Security force picket.
