Subedar Naik Patan Kumar Poddar, facing the charges of spying for Pakistan and leaking crucial Defence information, was sent back to Chanchalguda Central Jail in Hyderabad after completing six-day police remand.
While producing Poddar before a city court, the Hyderabad Central Crime station police also submitted a remand report to the court. Police informed the judge that they have found some prima facie information that Poddar had provided Defence secrets to one Anushka Agarwal. The police has sought the inclusion of Anushka as the accused number 2 in the case.
From the questioning of Poddar and and other investigation the police have gathered that Anushka had contacted him from Rajasthan and Delhi and money was deposited in Poddar’s bank account from Ahmedabad. Hyderabad police authorities have written to the bank authorities in Ahmedabad to provide the details and the video footage of the day when somebody had deposited the money in Poddar’s account.
From the phone calls and web chatting details of Anushka, police have gathered the information about her locations.
According to police sources, Poddar said that he had fallen in Anushka’s trap and provided the information she had asked for without realising its gravity. He said that as he had committed a mistake and he was ready to under go the punishment. As the information provided by Poddar was not enough, the police have now focused their attention on nabbing Anushka Agarwal.
