Two days after a sub-inspector was gunned down in Noida, criminals engaged in illegal mining fired at a police party seriously injuring a sub-inspector in Basti on Wednesday morning. However, this time the local police responded promptly to the SOS of the marooned colleagues, and gunned down one of the criminals during an encounter at Gauraiya Nayan village in Cantonment area.
