Even as the National Investigation Agency (NIA) continues to grope in dark about the identity of perpetrators of the Hyderabad twin blasts in February last, the Andhra Pradesh Government on Friday announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh for providing information about the persons or outfits involved in the blasts.

In all, 16 people were killed and dozens others were injured in the blasts in the busy Dilsukhnagar area on the evening of February 21.

An official Press release said that the State Government had decided to give the award to the informants who provide credible information. This will be in addition to the reward of an equal amount announced by the NIA.

The Government took the decision to give the cash reward on recommendation of the State DGP.

Though making painstaking efforts, the NIA could not make much progress in apprehending the terrorist elements behind the blasts. The investigation revealed that the improvised explosive devices were planted on two bicycles. Even the footage from the CCTV cameras installed at public places and nearby shops could not help as the footage was grainy and could not help in identifying the suspects who came on bicycle.
