Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Monday announced that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in a padayatra (foot march) on November 2 in Hyderabad over the Congress party's anarchic attitude and false propaganda against the SIR programme.

Speaking at a press conference, Rao said Congress is trying to create anarchy in society and the country, leaving aside public issues. To expose this anarchic attitude, the Telangana BJP is organising a padayatra with the theme Loktantra Bachao - Arajakta Hatao (Save Democracy - Remove Anarchy), he said.

The state’s BJP president also condemned the inappropriate remarks made by Congress party president Mallikarjun Kharge against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's family.

“The Congress party leaders are using objectionable language and derogatory vocabulary against the Prime Minister's mother and father out of frustration and disappointment, failing to convince people with false propaganda during elections in national politics, reflecting the party's pathetic state,” he alleged.

Rao said it is extremely despicable for a senior politician like Mallikarjun Kharge to make insulting remarks targeting the Prime Minister's father at a Patna rally.

He stated that, desperate for power after being away from it for twelve and a half years, Congress leaders are completely forgetting moral values.

Rao ridiculed that even though the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls process has legally reached its final stage, Congress leaders have not stopped spreading false propaganda. He said that realising defeat in the elections is certain, they are resorting to criticism using the SIR process as an excuse.

In protest against the Congress party's arrogant attitude, Rao announced the burning of Congress party effigies in Hyderabad and all district headquarters across Telangana.

Refuting charges on SIR, BJP state chief challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and said, "Give me the time, I will come to your native village Kondareddypally. Show me where the eligible voters' votes were unfairly deleted in your village."

Rao explained the actual statistics regarding the Congress leaders' propaganda that 13 crore votes were deleted across the country. He stated that the Central Election Commission conducted a transparent verification under ASDD (Absent, Shifted, Dead and Duplicate). He clarified that out of these 13 crores, approximately 2.8 million were deceased, about 3 million were absent/untraceable during ground-level verification, 6.3 million permanently migrated to other areas, and another 1 million had votes registered in multiple places.

He said it is shameful that Congress ministers fabricate stories against the Election Commission without proper evidence.

Reacting to Revanth Reddy's statement that they will go to Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on November 1 under the guise of a rally on SIR, he slammed it, saying his attitude is like Nero fiddling while Rome is burning.

Rao expressed anguish that CM Revanth Reddy wanted to go to Delhi, leaving severe drought and a drinking water crisis in the state. "Severe drought conditions prevail in the state, with nearly 330 out of over 600 mandals suffering from rain failure and drought. Out of 6,000 tanks across Telangana, water is retained in only about 500 tanks, and a dire situation has arisen where people in the capital city of Hyderabad have to purchase drinking water through about 8,000 water tankers daily," Rao alleged.

He termed it an unforgivable crime that, when people are facing such a water crisis and hardships, instead of solving them and taking responsibility, he is heading to Delhi to please Rahul Gandhi.
