Rashtriya lok Dal (RlD) candidate Amar Singh, who is contesting for the Fatehpur Sikri seat in Uttar Pradesh, has offered to campaign for Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav in Azamgarh. Amar Singh told mediapersons on Wednesday evening he did not want the Bharatiya Janata Party to win from the Azamgarh constituency in the State. Amar Singh, who parted ways with his erstwhile mentor in 2010, joined the RlD of Ajit Singh — an ally of the ruling UPA and the Civil Aviation Minister in Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government — earlier this month. His roadshow in Fatehpur Sikri on Wednesday, however, evoked a rather cold response. He faced numerous hurdles from district officials who wanted him to observe the rules of the game.
