After walk, Naidu to ride bus to win hearts and mind

Emboldened by the success of his “Padyatra” (walkathon) across the State, TDP president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is mulling the idea of remaining among the people till next elections.

Naidu, who has walked a record 2600 kms as part of his “Vastunna…Mee Kosam” (I am coming for you) journey since October 2 last, was now presently passing through East Godavari district. After covering three more districts, he was planning to complete his walk on April 27 in Srikakulam.

As his walk has touched only 90 Assembly constituencies, Naidu was planning to launch second phase of his public contact program from June and this time he will be riding on a bus to cover at least one or two constituencies a day. His plan was to cover all the remaining 204 Assembly constituencies ahead of next elections.

Party sources said that instead of depending merely on party leaders and cadres to reach out to the people, Naidu wants to directly go to the people and revive his personal rapport with the lower rungs of the party and the ordinary people.

Addressing review meetings of the party in Pithapuram and Anaparthy constituencies of East Godavari district on Thursday Naidu said, “party winning the next elections as a historic necessity. If either Congress or the YSR Congress come to power , the state will be plundered further”, he said.

Naidu, elated over the response he was getting from the people in Godavari belt said that he had no doubt that the people of the state wanted Telugu Desam back as they were fed up with the misgovernance of Congress and don’t see any hope other than the TDP.
