Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau, probing into the cash-for-vote scam is now on the lookout for Telugu Desam Party MlA S Venakata Veeraiah as the time limit fixed for him to appear before the agency for questioning expired on Friday evening. Agency had served a notice on him for questioning about his alleged role in attempted bribing of a nominated Telangana MlA Elvis Stephenson before legislative Council polls.
Venkata Veeraiah on the other hand said that he has sent a letter to the ACB expressing his inability to appear before it on medical grounds. In the letter, released through the media, the MlA said that he was suffering from the back and leg pain and doctors advised him ten days rest. He said he was admitted in a hospital and was unable to come immediately. But he promised to visit the ACB office as soon as he was discharged. Otherwise, he suggested, ACB officials can visit him in the hospital and question him. The letter was addressed to the Assistant Superintendent of Police, ACB Malla Reddy.
However the ACB sources said that they have not received any such letter from the MlA and they were looking for him.Meanwhile as the ACB was waiting for the reports of Forensic Science laboratory on the video and audio tapes related to cash-for-vote scam, a curious development has raised many an eyebrows in the political circles. In a startling move the Andhra Pradesh Government has appointed the former director of AP Forensic Science laboratory KPC Gandhi as its advisory.
