Taking a cue from the slogan ‘Abki Bar Modi Sarkar’ used successfully by the BJP in the lok Sabha polls, MNS leaders, office-bearers and workers on Thursday rooted for projecting their leader Raj Thackeray as the party’s chief ministerial candidate in the forthcoming Assembly polls.
“Party leaders and workers were of the opinion that Raj be declared the CM candidate of the MNS for the State Assembly polls. The consensus that emerged at Thursday’s meet would be communicated to our party president Raj,” senior party leader and legislator Praveen Darekar said.
“Today in Maharashtra, Raj is the most dynamic leader,” MNS legislator Shishir Shinde said, as he echoed the sentiments expressed by Darekar.
“like the BJP did in the lok Sabha polls, we also need to name our party president as the chief ministerial candidate well ahead of the State Assembly polls due in October this year,” Darekar and Shinde said.
Both Darekar and Shinde were talking to mediapersons after a party workers’ meeting which among others discussed the plans for MNS rally on May 31 at the Somaiya Grounds here.
