Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Tuesday hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress saying they have entered into a political adjustment with a self serving motive and each of them wants to outfox the other.
A day after Arvind Kejriwal staked claim to form Government with outside support from the Congress, the leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha said the AAP sacrificed its principle of “no Congress support” in order to make its presence felt nationally by forming a Government in the national Capital.
“When the two Parties jointly constituting a majority in the Assembly are allowing a Government formation with a dishonourable motive, one only hopes that governance and eventually the citizens of Delhi do not become a casualty,” Jaitley wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
The BJP leader argued that Congress decided to support AAP because it did not want a re-election after facing a humiliating defeat in Delhi, because the fresh elections would have been held with the lok Sabha polls in which Modi factor would have influenced the outcome. “The (fresh) election would have been polarised between the BJP and the AAP with the Congress getting squeezed out even more,” Jaitley claimed.
