Five “suspicious” people reportedly hailing from Mumbai were detained after they were nabbed from the premises of lotus Temple in South Delhi late on Sunday night, according to police.
After being informed of the incident, police took them to the Kalkaji police station where they failed to reveal the correct reason of their visit. The intelligence agencies and Delhi Police special cell were immediately informed and they also questioned them on Monday, said police.
Also, the Mumbai Police has been informed and their help sought in establishing the identities of detained persons, said sources. As the Independence Day is near, the Delhi Police has beefed up the security and is taking extra measures in maintaining peace in the national Capital.
