A 35-year-old woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her residence in South Delhi’s Palam area. The deceased has been identified as Renu Gupta.
The victim’s family has alleged that she was murdered for dowry though police suspect that she may have consumed poison and committed suicide. Inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPc have begun.
Since the marriage was less than seven years an Sub- Divisional Magistrate (SDM) probe had been ordered. Renu also had a prolonged medical history. She resided in Masurpur village along with her husband Yogesh Gupta. The couple had a two and half year old daughter from the wed-lock. They got married six years ago.Renu’s family was informed about her death by her husband.
