MNREGA is manipulated and does not
reach right people, says amit Mishra
President Rashtriya Nirman Mazdoor Union Amit Mishra stressed that life of the ordinary labourer is tough in the Indo Nepal border of the State where he said they are facing the problem of land rights, extreme poverty and human trafficking. He said that looking into the condition of the labour force in Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, Gorakhpur and Deoria, their Union had given a call to support the BSP party in ongoing UP State Elections. Mishra said these districts were ridden with abject poverty. “land rights is a major issue and people have been denied their right to land by the members of the upper caste. This is a problem that has been going on for years. The labourers face poverty in the absence of jobs. In the various government schemes there is a huge amount of corruption which prevails here. The money in schemes like MNREGA is manipulated and does not reach where it needs to go,” he said.
