Asaram's bail plea rejected

PNS
A court in Gandhinagar on Wednesday rejected the temporary bail application of Asharam Bapu. “Asharam applied for temporary bail for 30 days to perform the last rites of his nephew,” said an advocate, adding that the verdict was delivered by Additional District Judge RA Ghoghari.
According to him, the self-styled godman wanted bail to perform the last rites of 68-year-old Shanker Pagrani, son of his sister, who died last Thursday. “In anticipation of Asharam’s presence at crematorium, the body of Pagrani has been kept in a cold storage,” said a source close to Pagrani family.
Objecting bail of Asharam, RC Kodekar, public prosecutor submitted that Pagarani has two brothers and they could perform his last rites and Asaram’s release could create a law and order situation due to his fan following.
