Army chief on 3-day visit to Maldives
New Delhi: Army chief General Bikram Singh is on a three-day visit to Maldives starting Thursday to strengthen military ties between the two countries. During the visit, he will interact with high level political and military dignitaries of Maldives including the President, Minister for Defence and National Security and Chief of Defence Force, army officials said here on Thursday.
IAF airlifted 4,850 officials for lS polls
New Delhi: IAF has airlifted 4,850 officials besides 135 tonness of poll material till the eighth phase of ongoing lok Sabha elections on Wednesday, IAF officials said here on Thursday. More than 40 transport aircraft and helicopters have flown 1,200 sorties so far to ferry officials and material, they said adding helicopters flew officials to Gurez located at a height of 15,000 feet in Kashmir on Wednesday.
