RlD stages protest on mining in UP, slams CM
lucknow: Hitting out at the Samajwadi Party Government, the Rashtriya lok Dal said that despite Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav having the numbers to rule the State, he had lost the moral authority to govern because of his failure to control the mining mafia.
Addressing a dharna organised by the party to oppose illegal mining in the State, RlD State president Munna Singh Chauhan said this illegal trade was flourishing in Uttar Pradesh because of the patronage it was getting from the ruling party leaders.
2 held for speaking against Azam Khan
lucknow: The Sambhal police arrested two brothers allegedly for threatening Parliamentary Affairs and Urban development Minister Azam Khan more than two months back, on Tuesday evening. However, whether the Sambal police acted on their own to appease the Minister or acted at his behest but it surprised the minority community particularly as the two brothers were earlier given clean chit by none other than the sleuths of the Special Task Force who earlier investigated the matter. It is also interesting that even the Director General of Police on record confirmed that the above matter was just a case of ‘wrong call’ made on Azam Khan’s mobile.
On Tuesday evening, superintendent of police in Sambhal, Dr Thesildar Singh confirmed that the cops arrested Mohamed Abid and Mohamed Yamin, both real brothers as they threatened the minister Azam Khan to kill him after turning out to be human bomb. He said that the treatening call was made in May last and they registered the case with the crime branch on July 5 which is probing the matter.
