SC refuses to lift ban on ‘Sadda Haq’
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to lift the ban on movie ‘Sadda Haq’, restrained from screening by governments in Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh for glorifying Punjab militancy. The producers of the movie had approached the apex court against the unreasonable ban imposed in the four States and Union Territories despite the CBFC having given the film a green signal. The bench headed by Chief Justice Altamas Kabir refused to stay the ban on public exhibition of the film but decided to hear the matter on Tuesday.
