At least two heavily armed terrorists were gunned down by the joint team of security forces in Hyderpora area of Srinagar late Monday evening. The vehicular movement on the highway near the site of encounter was suspended to prevent any injury to civilians passing through the area.
According to a Twitter handle of Kashmir Zone police, "in the initial exchange of fire one terrorist was neutralised. The second terrorist was neutralised almost two hours later".
Till the time of filing the report the operation was still going on.
The identities of the slain terrorists could not be ascertained as their dead bodies had not been retrieved so far from the encounter site.
Three terrorists were neutralised in two separate encounters in Srinagar and Kulgam districts on Friday. So far 135 terrorists have been neutralised across Kashmir valley this year in different encounters.
