Exotica

Journey well into 2024!

Having bid farewell to the old and embraced the new, we extend heartfelt wishes for a Happy New Year to our cherished readers. May the pages of Exotica inspire and guide you to unparalleled adventures, making 2024 a year of discovery, joy, and unforgettable journeys.

As we embark on a new year, the January issue of Exotica holds a special place in our hearts. This edition is not just about exploring new destinations; it’s a celebration of our 17 year old journey envisioned by our founding Editor, late Dr Chandan Mitra.

January onwards, we will bring to our readers Dr Mitra’s extensive travels and experiences in a special section called Exotica Chronicles every month.

As a topical subject, we bring to you the captivating story on Lakshadweep, crafted by Dr Chandan Mitra almost 2 decades ago in October 2006. His foresight and passion for travel are timeless, as we witness the very destinations he explored, now gain prominence. It’s a perfect dip into the past where Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s current focus on Lakshadweep aligns seamlessly with the essence of our cover story. Dr Mitra’s legacy lives on, and we’re honoured to carry forward his spirit of exploration. A fervent traveller, his tales will transport you to various corners of the world, offering a unique perspective that only he could provide. Join us as we celebrate his love for exploration and storytelling.

In this issue, we bring you an exclusive interview with the incredibly talented National Award winner Pankaj Tripathi. His insights into his craft, experiences, and the intersection of lifestyle and travel in his life provide a unique perspective that is bound to captivate our readers.

For those seeking a taste of adventure, our feature on Bahrain uncovers hidden gems to let you immerse yourself in the local culture, and let the allure of Bahrain guide your wanderlust.

We travel to Meghalaya, where the clouds literally welcome you home. The narrative is a rare glimpse into Meghalaya’s natural wonders, cultural richness, and the warmth of its people.

Exotica also visits a one of its kind confluence of Asian and Mediterranean cultures in a delightul restro-cocktail bar in the heart of Mehrauli.

Of course, we also travel to a luxury nature resort on the fringes of Tipeshwar forest in Nagpur, a celebration of low-impact construction.

So sit back and allow Exotica to be your companion in discovering absolute gems all around us, from Lakshadweep to Bahrain, Meghalaya to Nagpur.
