Streaming platform JioHotstar has partnered with DGO to launch its services in Nepal, further expanding its international presence.

The collaboration will establish a dedicated JioHotstar destination within DGO, offering a wide range of content, including blockbuster films, original series, television shows, reality franchises and children’s programming, according to a press release.

The expansion follows the platform’s launches in the UK, Canada, Singapore and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The content lineup includes films such as ‘Bhediya’, ‘12th Fail’, ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, ‘Super 30’ and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. It will also feature JioHotstar Originals, including ‘Hunkkaar’, ‘Pritam & Pedro’, ‘Ali Baba Aur 40 Bhoot’, ‘Special Ops’ and ‘Chiraiya’, among others.

Regional productions such as ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ and ‘Thudakkam’ will also be available in Hindi. The platform’s offerings will further include popular shows such as ‘Bigg Boss’, ‘Koffee with Karan’ and ‘India Ka Top 1 Percent’.

Amit Malhotra, head of international business at JioStar, said the platform’s international expansion was aimed at bringing together the scale of Indian entertainment and the growing demand for Indian content overseas.

“Nepal is an important part of that journey, with audiences who have followed our films, television shows and talent for generations. With DGO, we can give that audience a much broader offering, combining JioHotstar’s entertainment with the convenience of a local platform,” he said in a statement.

Roshan Niraula, chief executive officer of DGO, described the partnership as a milestone for the company and Nepal’s entertainment industry.

He said DGO aimed to give Nepali viewers more reasons to use the platform, with access to JioHotstar’s films and shows, a new Nepali film every week and live international sports.

“We are bringing the choice together on a platform built for Nepal, at pricing designed for our viewers,” Niraula added.
