A 29-year old woman was allegedly raped by her brother-in-law in North-East Delhi’s Karawal Nagar area. The accused Ranjit has been arrested.
According to police, a PCR call was received on Saturday night around 11 pm. The woman in her statement told police that nearly two months back the accused started visiting her house on one pretext or the other and forcibly developed a physical relationship with her. When the victim fobbed off his advances, he threatened her of dire consequences.
The woman got scared and did not reveal the incident to anyone. On December 4, 2013 the accused again came to her residence and raped her. Ranjit had long back helped the victim’s family financially and that was also one of the reasons why she kept mum. A case of rape was registered and the accused Ranjit was nabbed from the area.
