A 22-year-old woman allegedly hanged herself after killing her two children in Delhi's Shakurpur area on Thursday night. As per a statement by the police, the bodies of the three were found by the woman's husband who was at work at the time of the incident.
According to a senior police official, a police control room (PCR) call regarding the incident in northwest Delhi's Shakurpur area was received about it at around 10.40 pm following which a police team was dispatched for the spot.
“On spot, the police team found that the woman's husband was at work when the incident took place. On returning home, he saw the bodies hanging. With the help of neighbours, the door to the room where the bodies were hanging, was broken,” said the senior police official.
“The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. A preliminary inquiry revealed that the woman had an argument with her husband on Thursday morning over visiting their native village in Bihar's Madhubani,” said the senior police official adding that the couple was married for five years.
