A 23-year-old woman was allegedly drugged and raped by her landlord’s son in Murad Nagar area of Ghaziabad, police said on Tuesday. However, no arrest has been made so far in the case.
The father of the victim in his police complaint alleged that Furkhan, son of Shabbir Malik had on July 30 lured the woman to his room, served her a spiked drink and raped her.
Cowering in fear, the woman was hesitant to report the matter, police said. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 376 (rape) of IPC, Murad Nagar Police Station in-charge R P Sharma said, adding the victim has been sent for a medical examination. Sharma further said that preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused and woman were close to each other. Police has launched a manhunt to nab the accused still at large.
